Reproductive and preventative surgeries
Neutering and spaying are recommended for many exotic species to reduce the risk of mammary, uterine, or testicular tumors, as well as other reproductive system disorders. This is especially important for rabbits and rats, in which sterilization is strongly advised at a young age.F or other species, the decision is made on a case-by-case basis, taking into account species, age, sex, and medical history.
Spaying or neutering is also advised for households with males and females to prevent accidental litters.
Before any procedure, a pre-surgical health examination is conducted by our veterinarian. This allows us to ensure your pet is in good health, discuss the surgical procedure and answer any questions you may have. A pre-anesthetic blood panel may also be recommended at this consultation to further ensure safety. The surgery itself is scheduled on a separate day to allow thorough preparation and reduce stress for your pet.
